Phil Groman, Project Manager
Phil is a writer, photographer and educationalist. He is currently developing a series of educational mobile phone applications with Afroes Transformational Games based in South Africa. Formerly, Phil managed a series of international projects at the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, including the launch of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in association with the Booker Foundation. He is also the co-founder of Beach Break Live, the UK’s fastest growing music festival and winner of Best Small Festival and Best Promoter at the 2009 UK Festival Awards. Before this he was based in Beijing as an arts and entertainment journalist. He has also worked on transformational theatre with an NGO in the Balkans.
Benjamin Ramm, Senior Advisor
Ben is founder-editor of the quarterly literary and political publication, The Liberal. He is also a commentator on literature, culture and politics, with an emphasis on contemporary Liberalism. He has written on the role of the arts in the public sphere, ethics and cultural relativism, and issues surrounding freedom of expression. He is currently working on a book about the rebirth of Romantic Liberalism.
David Kantounas, Content Director, Theatre and Live Performance
David has been writing plays and stories since leaving university in 2002. Some of his earlier work, written in collaboration with Theatre De Los Monos, has been produced to critical acclaim, notably The Trouble with Joan Antith (Prague Fringe Festival) and The Cinnamon Moths (The Urban Stages, New York).
In 2005 David joined the senior management team at the Royal Court Theatre and helped to guide the venue through its 50th anniversary year and the first season of new artistic director Dominic Cooke. After completing the Advance Young Writers programme at the Royal Court David left in 2008 to focus on writing for performance. Since then he has collaborated on various projects and has founded Dream EpicTheatre Company. His current play Gutter Junky is due to be produced in London this summer.
Will Robson, Content Director, Textual narrative
Will is currently a development producer for TV indie Studio Lambert (part of the All 3 Media group), writing treatments for factual and documentary programs for the major UK broadcasters. A 15 minute short-film he wrote and directed, Home Sweet Home, has just been picked up and filmed by award-winning film makers Paper Mannequin Productions, and comedy production company Green Inc, have just optioned one of his sit-coms, Not Safe For Work.
After working as a writer/director for Psychic TV, Will began writing for TopCat Productions, where he was commissioned to write and develop a series of feature films and comedy pilots, including, Bacchus and 51, alongside Cipher Films (Kidulthood, Adulthood). Will has also worked with Orange IPTV to script their original programming. Will has also written and directed a series of plays, including Coma at the Edinburgh Fringe and an adaptation of Sarah Kane’s 4.48 Psychosis.
Jonathan Rez, Content Director, Design
Jonathan is a Senior Wayfinding Strategist at FW Design and casual design lecturer at the University of New South Wales, Australia, where he authored the course, Visual Identity in the Built Environment. With a cross-disciplinary background, he has spent 10 years working on designing narratives across physical and virtual environments. He is currently completing an MA in Creative Practice for Narrative Environments at Central Saint Martins.
